The 'F' Word

Tuesday 01 June 2010 at 3:37 pm

The blog entry is about the F word.

What the fuck? You don't know what the F word is. Sigh!!!

Mea Culpa! Not your fault. It is quite offensive, no? More offensive than BC, MC, BsdK, LkB ?These are some of the usual terms used in our local derived languages in all its locally derived richness.

The word Fuck, many times, either from people with authority (HR) or the receiver, is termed and reacted to as a very offensive term. Usage of the word fuck is kind of blasphemy. In organizations, its usage can lead to harassments (to all those ultra fuckin' dumbs) and terminations. Sigh!!

Well! Yuck! to all those, who think that way.

Fuck is the most neutral word to express all kinds of feelings, be it anger, agression, disappointment, love, sex, celebration or anything else you can think of.

  • Fuck you man
  • I'm gonna fuckin' kill you.
  • Fuck! It is painful.
  • It was fuckin' amazing
  • Let's fuck

See. How offensive it is. Now let's localize it with its equivalents.

  • BC, Saala
  • BC/MC, I'll kill you
  • BC/MC, it is painful
  • G phat gayi. It is so painful
  • MC. Maza aa gaya

See. How nice it is. Not offensive at all. One can always argue that those words are not required to be used in the local languages, rather it is offensive terms not preferred. But be honest and ask yourself if you haven't used them when expressing yourself.

So when someone uses the F word, there isn't really a good reason to make those fucked up faces and feel offensive. The person is just making use of the best expressive neutral word to express himself.

At least, this way, while expressing himself, he still is sparing families and friends. So go ahead and make use of this wonderful F word and educate people on its endless possible usage. Or else if you still don't get it, I got 2 words: Fuck You.

The Taxi Wallah's Dream

Wednesday 21 January 2009 at 5:54 pm

It was about 2 AM, some day in June 2008, when I caught the taxi from Chinatown, Boston, MA to head to my hotel room in Waltham, MA.

It was the same day Celtics went victorious over Lakers in the Basketball match. I was lucky to see the people cheering and celebrating the victory. Everyone was shaking hands with others. I didn't feel that I was a visitor there.

So as I said, I caught the taxi and was heading for my hotel in Waltham. Suddenly, another taxi nearly hit the taxi I was in. My taxi driver and the other taxi driver had a small conversation (yell really) with no outcome. The other guy wasn't much interested in acknowledging his mistake. So anyway, we proceeded. And the taxi driver, having been pissed off of the just passed incident, wasn't very happy. On the way, I started talking with him and eventually it led to politics. I was interested to know what his opinion was about the Presidential candidates (Barack H. Obama, John McCain).

He opined that Barack was a good contender and was very popular. But he seemed more confident to say that Barack would never become the President of the United States. (I won't get into the details on how he backed his opinions with facts). He believed that "Seeing Barack as the President of the United States in like day dreaming".

But now that Barack Obama is the present of the United States, I'm sure that the Taxi Wallah's day dreams have come true.

Temple of Lord Mahadev, Bangalore

Having been in Bangalore for more than 4+ years, it was a regret when I visited the temple of Lord Mahadev, that why didn't I visit it earlier.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to be there with my parents and I must say, it is awesome. You need to be there.

Hospital && Medical && Doctors

Saturday 13 September 2008 at 7:27 pm

I've always been very skeptical about Doctors. Given the kind of news we've heard about Doctor's (one who used to take kidneys out of healthy people in the name of treatment), it was tough believing in this profession.

But I think I've been very wrong. One example cannot represent a community. My father has been going through serious medical treatments and I admitted him to the Manipal Hospital at Bangalore, India. Different people have had varying opinions about Manipal Hospital. I though it is important for me to opine what I went through with his treatment.

I've found Manipal Hospital to be a very good hospital. The service, care, and hospitalizaiton - all are good. But most importantly, I was very very happy and satisfied with the doctor who treated my father, Dr. Satish R. It was Dr. Satish's confidence that made me take all decisions for the treatment.
